A Day in Review

I arrived at work this morning to meet the technology guy at my door awaiting my laptop.  BOOO!!  Fingers crossed I will keep everything as it gets re-imaged.

The kids complete their 20 minutes of Reflex Math online.  If you haven't heard about this computer program for basic recall of math facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division), then you need to google after you finish my post.  :)

The kids are anticipating the preparation for Camping with Books.  In the past we have studies about earthworms, butterflies, crickets, bees, and ants. This year.. we are studyingVenus Flytraps and Ladybugs.  Since my students know the routine, I had them take ownership of the campsite this year.  They filled out resumes and applied for a job.

After lunch I received a visit from the technology guy and bad news...we think files are lost.  He says that he was backing up the files when POOF.  I did transfer some of a thumb drive yesterday and borrowed another drive this morning to save a few additional files.  I'm glad I can be OCD.  I had too many files and not all were saved.  I do have some things stored in my Yahoo Group, Scribd, and Google Docs... Sooooo.... I hold out hope.

We observed our ladybugs this afternoon.  They are fat and showing color.  Unlike butterflies, the ladybugs signs aren't as noticeable during metamorphosis.  There wasn't a J formation but they are at the top of the dome and holding on tight.  We shall see!  :)

About an hour before dismissal, we went to the basketball court to bomb our principal with water balloons.  Each year we vote on a cool celebration for reading (1st place for my class).  Last year, we SLIMMED Mrs. Brown.  This year.. Check it out for yourself!

Notice the balloon coming in on the top left corner!!

She is asking for it...

I'm so addicted to blogging that before I leave the classroom tonight, I used a desktop to make this post.  Yes, it is 8pm and I am about to leave.  I been setting up the room for CAMPING WITH BOOKS.
